Operation Santa
 
Mental Health America of South Carolina will host its Operation Santa Party for the Clients of Bridges Clubhouse on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the American Legion on Pickens St. in Columbia, SC. 


We are now accepting donations for the Wal-Mart gift cards and goodie bags that will be given to each member of Bridges Clubhouse, Mental Health America of South Carolina's long-standing psychosocial rehabilitation clubhouse program in Cayce, SC. There are over 50 members in the Bridges Clubhouse program that we expect to participate in Operation Santa!!

MHA of Greenville County: Survivors of Suicide of Greenville is hosting the local viewing of the 13th Annual International Survivors of Suicide telecast sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) on Saturday, November 19, 2011 from 11:30am to 3:00pm in the Fellowship Hall of St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2619 August Street, Greenville, SC 29601. MHA of Abbeville County will hold its 49th Annual Banquet and Annual Meeting on Thursday, Novmber 9, 2011 at 6:45pm in the Erskine College Dining Hall in Due West. A presentation of MHA's suicide prevention program QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) will be made by Cathy Smith of MHA of Greenwood County.

MHA of Aiken County will hosts its Operation Santa Event on December 14, 2011 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. If you or your organization would like to sponsor a gift bag fo

The Board of Directors of MHA of Anderson County will host its Annual Thanksgiving dinner for the resident 
MHAACof Southgate Apartments on November 21, 2011.

MHA of Anderson County is also hosting its Annual Christmas Party for the patients at Patrick Harris Hospital on December 12, 2011. Food and gifts are provided for the patients and musical entertainment will be provided by the Boulevard Baptist Church Senior Choir under the direction of Tim Hill, Director of Music. Planning Committee for 3rd Annual Helping the Hurting Conference to be held Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 12pm at MHASC Office.
Mental Health America of South Carolina is planning the 3rd Annual Helping the Hurting Conference to be held on March 2, 2011 in Columbia, SC. This year's conference will focus on educating leaders and members of faith congregations on the facts and warning signs of suicide and what resources are available to help individuals and families who are struggling with this difficult topic. 

Representatives of non-profit organizations, faith congregation leaders and interested members of any denomination or religious belief are welcome to join the Planning Committee for this conference to provide their experience, perspectives and insight into the planning of the conference.

Tim Stewart 

Tim Stewart was born in Florida, grew up in Colorado and relocated to South Carolina for college. Life began to change unexplainably to him during his college years. Tim later learn that he had a mental illness and in 2020 was diagnosed with schizophrenia. With his strong faith in God and the support of his family and friends he continues to live every day to the fullest. God has given him a wonderful talent and his greatest desire is to use his writing to glorify his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
