Call For Volunteers
After the Grand Reopening of the Fenyes Mansion this fall, docents will once again lead tours through the landmark 1906 home, presenting its architecture, art, and furnishings, and interpreting the life and times of Eva Scott Fenyes and her family within the context of local, national, and international history. Beginning this fall, we will be holding a training course for new docents. Docents are expected to complete the entire course and commit to leading two tours a month for at least one year. If you are interested in becoming a new docent, please contact Emily Leiserson at eleiserson@pasadenahistory.org or 626.577.1660, ext. 26.

Upcoming Exhibitions
Pacific Electric Railway: Then & NowWillis Stork Gallery Wed - Sun, Noon to 5:00 pm; Opens August 15
The Pacific Electric Railway and its 1,100 miles of track connecting Southern California's communities ceased operation by the 1960s. It has become more relevant in recent times due to the MTA's installation of the light rail in many of our communities. Many of the modern MTA lines follow what were once Pacific Electric routes. This exhibition, co-curated by Michael Patris and Steve Crise, will showcase rare images from our past and compare them with what can be seen in the same locations today. The exhibition will also feature railway objects and ephemera, including an original advertising painting from the Pacific Electric Railway that will be publicly displayed for the first time in generations. Three new paintings by renowned artist Harlan Hiney, who uses historic images to create new works of art, will also be on display.
