Bringing Pasadena to Life
Ever wondered what Pasadena looked like 100 years ago?  Interested in seeing historical photos of Pasadena landmarks?  Now you can with just one click!  Hundreds of digital images documenting the history of Pasadena are now available to view for free through the Pasadena Digital History Collaboration (PDHC), a partnership of the Pasadena Public Library, the Pasadena Museum of History and Pasadena City College Stratford Library.  These once hidden gems are now available online all in one place, making it easier to browse the collections of all three cultural institutions and find what you need.

Interested in learning more? Check us out at www.pasadenadigitalhistory.com or on Facebook under Pasadena Digital History then join us at Pasadena's ArtNight, Friday, October 8 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Pasadena Central Library as we launch the collection! We will be demonstrating the photo database, soliciting input on some mystery photos, and hearing from prominent Pasadena historians on a variety of topics relating to historic preservation and Pasadena's past.

This project was funded by a one-time grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provision of the Library Services Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.  For more information contact Martha Camacho at 626.744.4279 or info@pasadenadigitalhistory.com

Richard Miller's The Coral NecklacePasadena Patron:  The Life & Legacy of Eva Scott Fenyes

Wed - Sun, Noon to 5:00 pm

In an era when well-to-do families took a special interest in creating significant and valuable collections, Pasadena's Eva Scott Fenyes devoted her discriminating tastes, vast knowledge, and ample funds to surround herself with furniture, textiles, china, silver, and art.  The Fenyes Mansion is filled with art and antiques assembled by Eva and her second husband, Dr. Adalbert Fenyes, from their travels worldwide.

Pasadena Patron offers an in-depth examination of the life and legacy of one of early Pasadena's most prominent and influential women.  Themes covered in this special exhibition include Fenyes family history, Eva as an art patron and watercolorist, the influence of Europe and the East Coast on her collection, and the social milieu she created here in Pasadena. Exhibition highlights include items from the Fenyes collection never before on public display.
