Rolling pin and photosPlease, Please -- Don't Throw That Out!
Sunday, April 11, 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Avery Dennison Auditorium, 150 N. Orange Grove Blvd. (adjacent to PMH).  Free parking in Museum and Avery lots.

Once again, we invite you to come and witness how objects can be used to tell an interesting story from history.  We are repeating our successful program "Don't Throw That Out."  See what fascinating items have been rescued from attics and closets or the back of bureau drawers. The fun comes when the "old stuff" is presented by the owner to our panel of historians and antiques experts. They will fill in the details about potential value and historical content.

If you have something you want to share at the program, please contact Brad Macneil at 626.577.1660, ext. 16 or bmacneil@pasadenahistory.org.

Tickets: Museum Members, Free; Non-Members, $5.  Reservations suggested; please call 626.577.1660, ext. 10

Eva and her daughter LeonoraPasadena Patron:  The Life & Legacy of Eva Scott Fenyes

Now - August 29, 2010
Wed - Sun, Noon to 5:00 pm

In an era when well-to-do families took a special interest in creating significant and valuable collections, Pasadena's Eva Scott Fenyes devoted her discriminating tastes, vast knowledge, and ample funds to surround herself with furniture, textiles, china, silver, jewels and art.  The Fenyes Mansion is filled with art and antiques assembled by Eva and her second husband, Dr. Adalbert Fenyes, from their travels worldwide.

Pasadena Patron offers an in-depth examination of the life and legacy of one of early Pasadena's most prominent and influential women.  Themes covered in this special exhibition include Fenyes family history, Eva as an art patron and watercolorist, the influence of Europe and the East Coast on her collection, and the social milieu she created here in Pasadena. Exhibition highlights include items from the Fenyes collection never before on public display.
