The "great pumpkin in the sky" decorated the signpost at Roy's Unocal Station in Arcadia, circa 1980. This photo is from the Pasadena Star-News
photo archives, which were donated
to PMH in 1995. The collection is
particularly strong in local images from the 1980s and 1990s.

Current Exhibition
Family Stories: Sharing a Community's Legacy
Now through January 10, 2010
Wed - Sun, Noon to 5:00 pm
Family
Stories: Sharing a Community's Legacy features the stories of the Duncan, Gertmenian, Lowe,
Stevenson, Kawai, and Mejia families, which helps the Museum shed light on
the experiences of our African-American, Armenian-American, Chinese-American,
Euro-American, Japanese-American, and Latino communities, respectively.
The multi-generational experiences of the six featured families are
shared and interpreted through photographs, documents, artifacts, and
recordings.
The
exhibition, and related programs, places an individual family's story into
a larger local, regional, and national context, and seeks to inspire
visitors to reflect on their own family's history and how their own lives and
experiences are contributing to the ongoing creation of history and community.

that Southern California car studios have developed. The exhibition galleries will be open for one hour prior to the lecture.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase (and PMH members will receive 10%-20% off). Reception and booksigning immediately following lecture.
