"The Lord your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will quiet you with His love. He will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17
It's THAT time. We look back at the school nearing its end and realize the faithfulness and goodness of God once again! We recognize that whatever good has happened during this year is due to His blessing. Whatever child or family has been touched by His grace, whatever students have learned about His love for them and those they love, whatever has been modeled by teachers or staff ... ALL of it is due to His abundance showered on Our Redeemer Lutheran School.
You have probably heard the phrase, "VALUE ADDED." I suppose that dependent on your definition of the word, VALUE, this phrase could mean two things:
Definition #1) When we truly value something, we recognize and protect its worth. We don't want anything to detract from it's increasing importance, $$ worth, or sentimental value.
Definition #2.) When we seek a value, however, we may be looking for a 'deal,' a cheaper $$ price assigned to a real thing that we truly do desire. We recognize that we can't acquire it for the same price down the street or that when we assess its worth to us, we wouldn't resell it for the same 'cheap' price, but would rather place a higher worth or value on it.
VALUE ADDED EDUCATION at Our Redeemer Lutheran School is recognized by our families by one additional definition!
Definition #3: Value added at ORLS is due to the fact that Jesus Christ is the head of our school. We profess, teach, and seek to model Him in all that we say and do. Are we always successful? Of course, not. We are sinners, but in our value added environment, Jesus is also our Redeemer, our Savior, Who loves us even when we don't measure up. Yes, the academics and programs that surround our education are top-notch, but it is in our religious education program and the environment of faith, family, and nurture that we place our greatest worth. We VALUE the gem that ORLS is to our families and to our faith community.
Last week ORLC member families received a letter from Pastor Mueller reminding them of the VALUE that they experience at our school. This quality and worth come at a price to our committed congregation and our individual members. He has already received many great suggestions for our future. As we seek to continue the long-standing tradition of VALUE ADDED education at O.R., we invite your comments, your suggestions, your PRAYERS and your monetary gifts. They allow us to continue the mission of raising up committed, prepared Christians to face the world they will live in with faith, conviction, and a firm grasp of the absolute truth of the Bible.
We pray for our students who are graduating or moving away. May you ever take Jesus with you and be reminded of the VALUE He places on you as His very own child! You, Child of God, are priceless. To all of the rest of you, see you in church; may God bless and keep us until we meet again! |
