Advocates International & Campus Crusade for Christ International to co-host joint conference in Hong Kong in April 2013
Dear Friends,
Please be sure to Save the Date for this joint conference, "Transforming the World Through Faith & Law," which will be held in Hong Kong in April 2013.
We are already working hard on details related to this conference and will provide more information on speakers, location, registration costs and attendance limitations as they become available. Because of the limited size of this conference, those interested in attending will need to contact their regional boards or the AI headquarters office.
Just below, you can read about two more conferences that will be taking place this fall.
Thank you so much for your continued prayers and financial support for the work of Advocates. May the Lord bless you with His perfect . . . Grace and peace,
Brent McBurney President & CEO Advocates International

Christian advocates in the DRC to be holding national conference in Beni, North Kivu, Eastern Congo,
October 8-11
Christian lawyers from the CLS Chapter in San Antonio, Texas, have been working closely with colleagues in the Democratic Republic of Congo over the past few years and are pleased to let us know that, in conjunction with the Université Chrétienne Bilingue du Congo (UCBC), a Christian university in Eastern Congo, they will be holding the third justice and rule of law conference for Christian advocates in the DRC and the region. You can learn more about the Congo Initiative and UCBC on this website.
Sam Casey, then General Counsel for Advocates International, attended the 2010 conference and his sharing about AI and Advocates Africa was very meaningful to the attendees. One of the blessings of the first two conferences has been the start of new groups of Christian lawyer organizations in Bunia, Butembo, Beni and Goma, and we are praying that these groups will be strengthened and their leaders would be encouraged by a continuing connection with Advocates Africa.
For purposes of requesting prayer, the conference is now scheduled to run at the university from Monday, October 8th through Thursday, October 11th, with Friday, the 12th being a debrief day with the Congo Initiative leadership. Our team currently consists of Judge John Gemmill of Phoenix, Professor Dave Velloney from Regent Law School, San Antonio family law attorney Ben Chappell (pictured here), and, from Africa, Brian Dennison, a Georgia lawyer serving as a visiting professor at the Uganda Christian University law school, and IJM's former Nairobi office director, lawyer Joseph Kibugu. Please pray for the planning and finalizing of details for the conference and especially for safe travels to and within Africa for all involved. |

Thank You for Your Financial Support

AI is not a recipient of government funding and is solely dependent upon the financial contributions of those who believe in its mission, thereby enabling it to serve "clients" ranging from heads of state seeking to implement constitutional reforms to persecuted and imprisoned believers sentenced to death for their faith. We are most grateful and thank you for whatever financial support or voluntary service you can provide in support of AI's mission. Here's how you can help: (more)
