 LOGBOOK

Deb Carol color

We seem to be oriented to an academic calendar and don't quite get back into a rhythm until late September.  The seasonal changes mark this transition with shorter days, cooler weather, apples, harvest, firewood, and that crisp light that is present in the Fall.

As you step back fully into your work life - we invite you to think about how you will support your courageous leadership. There are many valuable opportunities offered through organizations focused on nonprofit success, sustainability, and continued vibrancy.

Perhaps this is the year you will join us and your peers in a paddling group. We hope so!

Here is what executive directors who have taken part in a Paddling group have to say:

  • There is no reason to assume that you are alone in your position.   I gained an awareness of the similar challenges facing all executive directors, even more experienced directors.
  • Being involved in a Paddling group is equal to several years worth of an ED's life.
  • I always left the sessions "energized" despite a long work day.
  • I appreciated the confidential environment [where it] felt safe to share.

Want to know who has participated?  Go to our website to see the list of organizations that have supported their executive director's participation.
