On September 10, 2012, CPC, Time Warner Cable (TWC), and NY State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver opened a state-of-the-art Learning Lab in Chinatown. CPC is the first community service organization in Lower Manhattan to receive a Learning Lab, which is a Time Warner Cable funded program providing New Yorkers with access to computers, e-learning programs and high-speed Internet to assist with educational and professional development needs. The Learning Lab is located at CPC's Community Services Center at 165 Eldridge Street.

The $50,000 donation by Time Warner Cable for the Learning Lab allowed CPC to purchase new computers, printers, computer software, tablets and HD televisions. The Learning Lab is powered by high-speed Wideband Internet from Time Warner Cable Business Class, which also provides the Lab's complimentary HD DVR and TV services.

"This Learning Lab will be a vital resource for my neighbors in Chinatown. By providing state-of-the-art technology, free Internet and cable access, we are helping to create new educational opportunities for our children and giving adults and seniors the chance to develop new skills and stay connected in our increasingly digital world," said New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. "I want to thank Time Warner Cable for its investment in our community and I want to commend the Chinese-American Planning Council for its commitment to improving the lives of our residents."
