Greetings!
All of us have that one certain someone that is just absolutely impossible to shop for. This is the person that 2 weeks before Christmas buys that special gift that you spent hours shopping for because they had to have it. Now you have to rush out and return your gift and start over at square one. I personally have several of these people on my shopping list and know how frustarting this can be.

As you tackle the hustle and bustle of the holiday shopping season we would like to make your holiday shopping just a little less frustrating. Below is just a sample of the savings that we have to offer this holiday season.

Please take note of our special store holiday hours to ensure that you can take advantage of these special offers.

May God bless you and your family this Christmas season.

Sincerely
Rachel Duggins

A Christmas Carol (Pond Version)
Everyone is familiar with the timeless holiday classic "A Christmas Carol". The profound adventures of Ebenezer Scrooge walking through his past, present, and future life reminds me of how the Water Gardening community has progressed over the years and enlightens me on the future of the Water Gardening industry in Central Kentucky. I thought that it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane from the Past to the Present and on into the Future in true holiday form.

· The Ghost of Ponds Past - This is a past that unfortunately many pond owners can relate to. It is the time when Bare Liner and Concrete Ponds covered our landscapes. A time when holiday pond decorating meant putting lights around our seasonal (pea soup) green pond or firing up the old UV Light for Christmas. Those pond owners that were fortunate enough to find a resource to help install the pond of their dreams were either misled in the functionality of their system or abandoned all together by their pond contractor once final payment was received. Oh how dismal those days must have been.

· The Ghost of Ponds Present-This is the present community that we are working very diligent to build. A community of pond owners that are educated on the inner workings of their pond so they can properly maintain a healthy ecosystem. A community that has resources available to them through the H2O Designs Aquatic Garden Center and our website should they have questions or need scheduled regular or occasional maintenance calls.

· The Ghost of Ponds Future - This is a future community (Not so far away) that recognizes the various options that are available to them to integrate water into their landscape. A community that recognizes the tranquility, relaxation and enviromental impacts that comes from integrating water into their landscape and the soothing sound of running water. This community also knows that through Pondless Waterfalls, Bubbling Boulders or Decorative Bubbling Urns they can experience this same tranquility through lower maintenance less expensive means than a full blown pond.

More importantly, the Water Garden Community of the future is rid of landscape installers that are out for a quick profit and do not fully understand the proper concepts of installing low maintenance Organic Water Features. Through a more educated consumer we have rid our future Water Garden community of these contractors and all the consumer needs to ponder is which contractor has the design that fits their dreams.

Finally, I want to thank each and every one of you that continue to support our company as we grow the Central Kentucky Water Gardening Community. Our promise to you for the future is to maintain our superb customer support while we continue to grow and introduce others to the wonderful lifestyle of Water Gardening that most of us enjoy on a daily basis.

Sincerely

"Creative Giving"

Christmas is a time when our attention is turned to giving.  My parents helped me to come up with some creative ways to give this season:
  1. Volunteer at a local pantry or shelter.  They could always use an extra helping hand at this time of year.
  2. Unclutter your own pantry and remove unwanted nonperishable food items and donate them to a pantry or local family resource center.
  3. Visit a local nursing home or extended living community for caroling and take homemade Christmas cards to the people there.
  4. Divide out your gently used stuffed animals and toys that you no longer play with and take them to a children's hospital.
  5. Clean out outgrown or unused bedding, coats, shoes, blankets, and pillows and take them to  a local resource center that knows of families in need in your community.

These were just a few ideas we came up with, take time with your family to come up with your own lists of fun ways to care for those in need.  I wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Sincerely

Austin's Pond Life Lesson

Where do the frogs go in the winter?

Answer:
"In the cave, like the fish."

Austin is partially correct, frogs hibernate for the winter.  Aquatic Frogs that live in our ponds burry themselves at the bottom of ponds in the rocks and debris. If the ponds are not deep enough the frogs will leave and  find a larger pond for the winter.  Some frogs do not leave in water they are called Terrestrial Frogs and  will bury themselves under the leaves or debris around the house for the winter.
