VPDJA Receives OneGeorgia Funds
$500,000 Grant Will Enable Road Project in NWHBP

Gov. Nathan Deal and members of the OneGeorgia Authority Board recently awarded a $500,000 Equity grant to the Valley Partnership Joint Development Authority to assist with the extension of a roadway in the Northwest Harris Business Park. The funds will be used to create a complete road system within the Northwest Harris Business Park, which is located on Highway 103 in the City of West Point.
"We are excited about what this grant will do to enhance the Northwest Harris Business Park," said J. Harry Lange, Chairman of the Harris County Commission. This will help us open up more of the park for development while improving the traffic flow for the businesses already in the park."
The road project will improve safety for the employees that work in the park. It will also allow access to an additional 95 acres for development and provide additional ingress and egress.

Knology Picks NWHBP for New Facility
Allows for Expansion of Knology's Advanced Network Capabilities
In January, Knology, Inc. will begin constructing a new 6,000-square-foot technical facility in the Northwest Harris Business Park and also plans to lease additional space within the West Point Technology Park. Both projects represent a $5 million dollar capital investment and will create a
combined 60 new jobs in the area.
"Knology's new facility will house the latest in advanced technology solutions for voice, video, and data services. This investment is consistent the company's ongoing commitment to offer our customers the highest quality entertainment experience," said John Treece, Chief Technical Officer for Knology.
Knology will work to complete construction by mid to late 2012 and begin staffing as the facility comes online.

On October 20, Auction Broadcasting Company (ABC) celebrated the opening of its newest location in South Columbus on Blanchard Boulevard. ABC announced the creation of 40 new jobs and an investment of $1 million.
