Health literacy is also being recognized by those outside our field. I want to share a brag. My book, Health Literacy from A to Z: Second Edition just received two awards for excellence from the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA), New England Chapter. I am truly honored to be so recognized by my peers.

TEDMED 2012
|
As mentioned last month, I was invited to participate in TEDMED 2012 as a "Challenge Advocate," championing the cause of "Making Informed Choice Work Better." While this challenge didn't get voted into the Top 20, I have been asked to participate on one of the teams that did. Indeed, we are all winners as health literacy is now widely recognized as an important issue affecting healthcare today. Together, we made this happen. Thanks everyone!
