October is a Health Literacy Month!
October is a very special time for me. Not only is this Health Literacy Month. But today also is the publication of my book, Health Literacy from A to Z: Practical Ways to Communicate Your Health Message, Second Edition.
This month, I'm sending you two issues of the "What's New" e-newsletter. Today's focuses solely on Health Literacy Month and my book. In a few weeks, I'll send another with even more topics and news. Thanks for wanting to know what's new in Health Literacy Consulting.

Health Literacy from A to Z: Second Edition. Other authors had said that writing a second edition can be more work than writing the first. Now I know it's true. But I also learned how fulfilling this process can be.
I'm excited for you to see all the new topics, stories, strategies, and links in this edition. My goal now, as always, is to share practical strategies you can use to clearly and simply communicate health information.
In honor of Health Literacy Month, Jones & Bartlett Learning (publisher of this book) is offering a special promotion of 20% off the book's list price plus free ground shipping within the U.S. When you order a copy simply enter the code, HELEN. Here's a link, http://go.jblearning.com/healthliteracy

Health Literacy Out Loud (HLOL) podcasts are audio interviews with those "in the know" about health literacy.
Unlike other HLOL podcasts, today I'm the one being interviewed. Take a listen as Adam Weiss and I talk about the new edition of my book. Health Literacy Out Loud #66: Health Literacy from A to Z.
