Spread Holiday Cheer
presents2
During the holiday season it is important that you do not forget about your Hispanic outreach efforts. The great news is that you can actually save your marketing dollars by remembering your grassroots efforts.
  • Meet with your community partners and identify sponsorship and volunteer opportunities for different events, especially with faith-based organizations since Hispanics are mostly Christian.
  • Promote your remittance services because Hispanics often send money to family and friends in their home country during the holidays. You can highlight specific countries where you know your local Hispanic community is from such as Jalisco, Mexico or San Salvador, El Salvador.
  • Promote your Visa gift cards, reloadable cards and vacation loans for those members who visit their home countries during the holidays. Highlight the fact that these products can help with expenses and allow them to carry less cash when traveling.
  • Target Hispanic members with your holiday loans to pay for holiday expenses and to have extra cash to send to family and relatives in their home country.
  • Change your Spanish newspaper and radio ads to reflect your holiday promotions.
  • Don't overdo it with promotional messages. Establish a call-to-action for your members such as come to the credit union to learn more or send your first remittance free with a coupon.
  • Measure your results at the end of the holiday season to see how you did.
