We've all seen it, that little drip that comes out of your kitchen or bathroom sink from time to time. We might have thought, "no big deal."

According to the United States Geological Survey, a single leak, dripping 30 drops per minute, will use three gallons of water a day. That's the equivalent of 27 baths, or 100+ showers over the course of the entire year. A leaky toilet is even worse, wasting about 22 gallons of water a day. About 30% of all water wasted in the home is literally flushed down the toilet. Much of this comes from the fact that most older model toilets use up to 5 gallons per flush, in stark contrast to more recent efficient models that use 1.6 or even 1.28 gallons per flush. Low-flow showerheads (under 2.0 gpm) can also provide you with some substantial savings, cutting consumption by 25% - 70%.  Older showerheads can be up to 5 gpm, while the current federal standard is 2.5 gpm.  The latest 1.5 - 2.0 gallon showerhead with aerating technology feels just as good as a 2.5 gpm showerhead.
