Thank You Videos

CALLING ALL ITI SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS.... Please help with "Thank You Videos" for a Gratitude Campaign for The Illinois Sheriffs' Association, our primary scholarship donor for ITI. An ITI video Thank You card will be shown at their upcoming annual conference. Please, grab your video camera, and make a 30 second video that says:

  • Thank You to the Illinois Sheriffs' Association for providing scholarships to attend ITI.
  • Why ITI is important to you.
  • How ITI helps you make your community or school a better place.
  • What positive things you've done in your community or school.

Email your video to Sarah or snail mail to ITI, 937 S. Second Street, Springfield, IL 62704 by NO LATER than January 6th. Call Sarah at 217.528.7335 ext. 16 if you have any questions.

These scholarships have made it possible for hundreds of teens to attend ITI! This special, personal "Thank You" for the continued support of the Sheriffs' Association over the years is very important so they can show that these scholarships are still a "good thing".

Big Bowl Vote 2012

You're Invited to GET IN THE GAME!Bowl

Middle and High School Students VOTE on their FAVORITE Super Bowl commercials!

The NFL Super Bowl is known for its commercials as much as the game itself.

DID YOU KNOW? Of that wide viewing audience, about 18% will be youth under 21.

If your child (student) is one of them, he or she will be exposed to alcohol advertising.

That is why you need to GET IN THE GAME! Last year, more than 35,000 middle and high school students in 42 states participated in the Drug-Free Action Alliance (DFAA)Big Bowl Vote 2011, which once again revealed the youth appeal of alcohol advertising.

Through research, we know that the more youth are exposed to alcohol advertising, the more likely they are to consume alcohol underage.

To further assess the impact of advertising on youth, we invite you to participate in the DFAA BIG BOWL VOTE 2012

ITI and OS Teen Ambassadors to Attend National Substance Abuse Prevention Conference

Taylor Irby,Alysha Eichelkraut and Shawn Conerton have been chosen to represent the Illinois Teen Institute and Operation Snowball and attend the Community Anti-Drug Coalition of America (CADCA) 22nd annual National Leadership Forum. Each teen leader was selected by a panel of reviewers for their contributions to alcohol and drug prevention efforts, their demonstrated leadership abilities, and their excellence within the Illinois Teen Institute and Operation Snowball programs.

These Ambassadors will travel to Washington, D.C. in February to become a part of the National Youth Leadership Initiative, which provides intensive competency-based training throughout the week to sharpen leadership skills, build their capacity to engage in civic-led change in Illinois, and teach strategies to help them strengthen and nurture other young leaders. The National Youth Leadership Forum is hosted by the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America, the largest event for experienced and dedicated youth leaders from across the country.
