Happy Thanksgiving from Heart's Cry Children's Ministry
Counting our Blessings

As we approach Thanksgiving, we are reminded of how the Lord continues to bless us in immeasurable ways.  The Lord has really spoken to me through the Beatitudes lately on what it truly means to be blessed by the Lord.  Because of His great love for us, He pours out His blessings in ways that we do not always understand at the time.  True blessings don't always look like blessings at the time they arrive.  Yet His ways are perfect and we praise Him continually, for He loves us enough to not leave us where we are but instead is continually renewing us to be more like Himself.  Last month was a lot about what Jesus meant when He said "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."  It truly is a blessing to mourn.  I can now see that.  Currently, the Lord is teaching me about "Blessed is the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."  Can't wait to share more about that later.

We are thankful to report that we are back in Raleigh and just closed on our house today.  Praise the Lord!  After over 14 months of being on the market, the Lord knew this was the day for it to be sold.  There were many a day where I had no idea what was going on. "Why has it not sold?  Maybe we messed up with this house?  Where did we go wrong?"  But the Lord knew today was the day.  Because it sold today, we were able to return and be with Matt's mom for her 3rd round of chemo, today.  We celebrated a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with her and the family on Sunday, as she will not be feeling like turkey by Thursday.  It was wonderful and we thank the Lord that we could be here together with the family.

Also, due to the slow down in the government in Panama in December, after much prayer we decided (and the Board agreed 100%) that we should stay in Raleigh until Christmas.  We fly back to Panama on December 29th.  So, we will be able help out with Matt's mom and hopefully catch up with as many of you as the Lord directs.  If any of you desire to get together, or to get a group together, just email or call us and we will try our best to work that out.  We would love the opportunity to share what all the Lord has been doing in us and in Panama.

We love you with a love that only the Lord can give.  And as we have been counting our blessings today, we thank the Lord for you.  Your love and support has been amazing.  The Lord has blessed us through you.  We hope you and your family enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend together.  Remember to count your blessings today...  and be on the lookout for those blessings that are in disguise!

With love,
Misty and Matt

Thanks to those friends and family that helped with the move.  It took quite a bit of effort, but the last of it came out yesterday.  We are thankful for all those that helped with the house while we were away.  You are too numerous to mention, but you know who you are.  Also, a special thanks to John Merriman that helped us sell the house and went above and beyond, taking care of so much while we were in Panama.
