Monday morning is usually the busiest day of the week for the BPO department and Monday, May 18th proved to be even more busy and exciting.
The expansion of the BPO department to the new location at 500 Donald Lynch Blvd. in Marlborough is finally complete. This expansion speaks to the record breaking growth that Blue Cod has experienced this year and after eight months of planning, the BPO teams are very excited to be entering their new home.
"The move for some of our BPO teams to the new building has gone surprisingly well," said Jon Hughes, Director of BPO. "No significant issues occurred, despite moving over 50 people at once, and starting out in our new building on the busiest workday of the week! The place looks terrific."

Blue Cod is pleased to announce the kickoff the first Gatewise Claims Implementation. This kickoff marks the beginning of a series of implementations around Blue Cod's latest software development effort. This project is being done with one of our largest customers, Homewise. The implementation began in May and the project is scheduled to go into production in the fall of 2009. 
Working with NetApp, a company that creates storage and data management solutions to help customers accelerate business and achieve outstanding cost efficiency, Blue Cod has chosen a storage appliance to augment their existing storage network capacity. This will allow Blue Cod to continue to add storage resources dynamically within each of their customers' hosted server environments and do so with improved cost effectiveness. 
The Connecticut FAIR Plan (Fair Access to Insurance Requirements) is a joint underwriting facility mandated by Connecticut Regulations. It became effective on September 1, 1969 to enable property owners' access to property insurance, if they were unable to find coverage in the voluntary marketplace. The Connecticut FAIR Plan is also Blue Cod's first MITS customer. 
The 2009 Western Michigan CPCU Chapter's Excellence Award went to our very own Senior Project Manager Nyann Dordan. The CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) Society is a community of credentialed property and casualty insurance professionals who promote excellence through ethical behavior and continuing education. To obtain the CPCU designation is no easy task according to Nyann who started the series of exams in 1995.
According to the U.S. Postal Service, the busiest mailing day of the year is December 19th. For the Blue Cod "internal post office" every Monday is the busiest day. Document Services is responsible for all the incoming BPO emails, faxes, and "white mail" which is any mail delivered via the U. S. Postal Service. On an average, there can be anywhere between 400 to 900 pieces of incoming "white mail" a day. They also scan all documents either front end, before processing or back end, after request has been processed.
