General Meeting Program with Guest
Hugh Archer of Kentucky Natural Lands Trust
Clifton Center 2117 Payne St (www.cliftoncenter.org)

Please join us on Tuesday, October 16, at the Clifton Center (www.cliftoncenter.org) for a presentation by Hugh Archer, Executive Director of the Kentucky Natural Lands Trust. Established in 1995, KNLT is a state-wide land trust with a mission to protect, restore and connect Kentucky's remaining wildlands.

This is accomplished through the direct purchase of land, purchase of conservation easements and by working with other conservation partners. KNLT was initially established to protect Blanton Forest on Pine Mountain, the largest old-growth forest remaining in the state. This successful campaign resulted in the purchase and establishment of the forest as a state nature preserve.

KNLT's efforts have expanded into a variety of conservation projects across the state and currently include the Pine Mountain Wildlife Corridor, the largest landscape level project ever undertaken in the state. Through partnerships with government agencies, nonprofits, corporations and private individuals KNLT has protected thousands of acres of wildlands. Hugh will discuss efforts to identify and protect natural lands, large forest blocks, and migratory corridors in Kentucky.

In addition to serving as Executive Director of KNLT, Hugh also serves on the Heritage Conservation Fund Board, Pine Mountain Settlement School Board, Kentucky Woodland Owner's Board, Kentucky Conservation Committee Board, and the Kentucky Land Trust Coalition Board.

Our program begins at 7:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

"In the same way that we fought for the right to vote in '64 and '65, now we've got to stand up for clean energy, clean air, and clean water"
International Civil Rights Walk of Fame inductee
Rev. Gerald Durley

Kentucky Interfaith Power and Light's Greening West Louisville program is hosting an important event this October at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage exploring the connections between race, faith and climate change. Our theme is "Race, Faith and Climate Change: How Global Warming is a Civil Rights Issue". The date is Thursday, October 25th at 6:30 pm.

Their program will join the NAACP's Climate Justice Initiative in acknowledging that global warming is "one of the most important civil rights issues of our time" and affirm the call to "right the injustices that are visited upon us through the water we drink, the land on which we live, and the very air we breathe" (injustices that are being disproportionately borne by the African-American community).

Map of the Psyche
JTW Banner
Near Louisville, Kentucky
on scenic private land

with Rebecca Wildbear & Doug Van Houten

The Nature-Based Map of the Psyche serves as a guide to the healing and wholing work that is foundational to becoming fully human. Cultivating all four facets of our wholeness -- and coming to understand both the limitations and gifts of our wounded, fragmented, or shadowed parts -- are necessary steps toward living a soul-centered life.

In this program, you'll explore the landscape of your individual psyche through creative expression, focused time alone in nature, group work, movement, voice dialogue, journaling, and other Soulcraft TM*
practices.
