Coastal Gateway Region, Ala. - April 26, 2011
Coastal Gateway Regional Economic Development Alliance (CGEDA) would like to welcome Southern Pine Electric Cooperative as the newest member on the Board of Directors. While Southern Pine is the Alliance's newest board member, Southern Pine previously served on the Authority Board of Directors from 2005-2008. Southern Pine has come back on board with the newly formed Alliance as their 22nd board member.

Southern Pine already partners with various towns, chambers of commerce, local economic development groups and banks to help businesses and industries locate or expand in communities within Southern Pine's service area. Vince Johnson, President/ CEO of Southern Pine, said "Southern Pine realizes that economic development is essential to the growth of the communities it serves".
"Southern Pine believes that the better the job market, the brighter the future for our members and their children," said Johnson.
