 ASU to Host Economic Symposium on May 20
 

Alabama State University - Southern Normal Campus, The Escambia County Industrial Development Authority, Workforce Development Region 9, Coastal Gateway Economic Development Authority, State of Alabama Representative Alan Baker, and the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce are co-hosting an Economics Symposium on Thursday, May 20, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Country Club of Brewton in Brewton, Ala.

 

All local and regional economic developers are strongly encouraged to attend.

 

The Symposium entitled "Economic Development Planning during Tough Times: Preparing for the Rebound", will serve as the Capstone Economic Development Planning Leadership Institute and Awards Banquet of ASUSN's Rural Business Opportunity Grant program (RBOP). A panel of RBOP participants will present their Model Individualized Economic Development Plans for Escambia, Monroe, Conecuh and Covington counties to culminate their coursework in the Institute. The MC and panel moderator, Dr. Douglas Littles, President, Reid State Technical College, will guide the presentations, solicit audience participation, offer follow up questions as needed, and summarize the thoughts for the day.

 
Ralph Stacy, Alabama Business Council, will deliver the keynote address at the awards luncheon. Registration for the Symposium is $30 and is open to the public. Advanced registration is required as seating is limited.
