The Yoga Source Studio
I've been thinking about the meaning of the sanskrit word 'sangha' after I heard myself in the Saturday morning Hatha class going on a bit about the importance of thinking of the studio as a yoga community. Then later in the day I heard Dr. Gabriel Cousens' in our movie 'Spiritual Nutrition' talk about the importance of 'sangha' or spiritual community to the practice of yoga. He echoed my sentiments.
After reflection I realize though that I don''t say enough what a tremendous privilege it is to oversee The Yoga Source. It is so much larger than my efforts. After all these years, it has developed its own lifeforce, the energy of all of you who have participated in the practice of yoga at the studio. You may not consciously realize why the space feels so good...but I do. Sometimes I look around the room at all of you and I think 'Wow, there are some truly neat people here.'
I had planned to share a reprint from a Yoga+Joyful Living article today on why everyone needs yoga in their life but instead I just want to say thank you to you all, both the past and present students of The Yoga Source, for what you've shared with our little sangha...and trust me, whether you think of it in those terms or not, our humble studio is an amazing sangha.
Namaste -
