You may have recently heard me mention Green Smoothies in class. Some of you have asked me to share my recipe. If you don't know anything about Green Smoothies your initial reaction may be 'Ick!' but actually, much like my butter bean fudge, these aren't bad at all.
GREEN SMOOTHIE
kale, spinach, collard or mustard greens
1 serving apple juice
1-2 frozen bananas
1 bag frozen peaches, strawberries, or blueberries
1 scoop protein powder
Fill the blender to the top with greens. Pour in a serving of apple juice and blend. Add the protein powder and frozen fruit. Blend again. Use organic ingredients when possible. Any leftover smoothie can be stored for 24 hours in the fridge.
That's it. Easy. You might want to close your eyes if the green color isn't too pretty but you won't have to hold your nose because you won't taste the greens, only the fruit.
To find out about the amazing nutritional science behind Green Smoothies our April Saturday movie will be a filmed lecture by Victoria Boutenko entitled 'Greens Can Save Your Life.' |
This Saturday March 13th is the first week of the second session Hatha class at 11:15A. Immediately afterward stay for
