Welcome to my May Newsletter.
In my work I always notice the power of love and the healing that occurs as a person starts to learn about truly loving themselves - believing that they can heal, find happiness, move forward from pain that has been hindering them. I notice how this occurs in relationship, how when we stretch out of our comfort zone to give to another what they need, this heals us too. How when we get our needs met and believe we are worthy of love, how deeply this goes to changing our lives.
This is at the core of my work and the core message of this newsletter, and is also demonstrated when I listen to the people I interview in my weekly podcasts. Chris Rhys Howarth, who has started a regular column, told his story of the healing that has been occurring in his work out in Africa. He speaks of the healing that he witnessed as the people told their stories and found that others cared enough to listen, cared enough to help them move forward. Kate Arnold, who I interviewed last week, also speaks of healing - through nutrition. The essential message is to start taking notice when there is pain or imbalance.
In May I started some twice monthly workshops - I call them 'manifestation workshops' - essentially they are a space to explore your dreams and goals and listen to your inner voice. Hear the voices that are hindering and helping you and, again, start to notice and discover how to live with intention rather than by default. Create a life that feels good.
I have taken a rather hazardous route at times in my life - and for the past 33 years I have worked with others, helping them to heal and grow and feel better. It has definitely been a case of 'healer, heal thyself!' I was aware all along that the real work in healing others was dependent on my own process of healing. Ros Draper has been an amazing ongoing support to my own journey and something particularly important she said to me was, 'You must give yourself permission to use the special energy you use with others for yourself.' I chose to write the story of my own journey of healing and learning to love and trust myself, which took going beyond some fear of the exposure. However I am very glad I did it and 'Running to Learn' which was published last year has just been made into an ebook - available here.
And I completed the 100k Ultra in Copenhagen! My Ultra blog tells the story and I was moved and inspired by the amount of support I had from my friends and family. Friendship ad relationship (diary page) is sustaining and helps us become better people. As I ran along - when my body didn't want to! - I tuned into the energy of my friends willing me on and I felt expanded - it helped me tune into the sustaining infinite energy which is in limitless supply!
I hope you enjoy this month's newsletter, with its stories of inspiration and messages of healing...

The Bare Truth
We exist forever in dialogue, we create our future and give meaning
to our past in the dialogues we engage in. The spaces between us are
where we weave the magic and make up the stories that exist in the
moment - but shape our future. Within the dialogue we write and rewrite our history.
In the telling and retelling of our
stories we have the chance to find peace and the freedom from any
regret or unresolved wounds, from the pain which often holds us in the
past, locked within a tale, as well as the joy that comes through
sharing memories that form the fabric of our relationships and make our
history rich with meaning.
Through telling our story,
through being heard and hearing ourselves, we can often see our stories
from multiple perspectives. This makes it possible to move ourselves to
the present - and towards a future created with intention and
consciousness rather than unconscious patterns and outdated scripts!
My Weekly Podcast
Would you
like to be interviewed by me, about any subject or any aspect of your
life? Is there something you want people to know about: maybe your
work, your hobby, an event, work you are doing, a charity, your art,
your writing, your music, your business, your politics, your spiritual
beliefs - anything at all? What motivates and excites you, what you'd
like to achieve, what you have achieved and how - anything that you
would like to say, then I would like to listen to you and so would the
people who are subscribing and tuning in every week!
'The Bare Truth'
offers a chance to speak and be heard and to make a difference in the
process of the dialogue as it unfolds! If this is something you would
like to do, then please get in touch and we can schedule an interview!
