Welcome to my April Newsletter.
It is Easter weekend as I write. If we want, Easter can offer us a chance to focus more consciously on renewal. The natural state of the universe is of change and we along with it are always engaged in the cycle of birth death and re birth, both in actual terms and in the birth and death of ideas, states of being - thoughts feelings - episodes in our own lives.
Whatever your religious beliefs, Easter is celebrated with a national holiday and the four days off accompanied by the spring weather, full of promise, can serve to allow time for reflectivity and healing and a chance for your own rejuvenation as you head towards a productive and energized summer!
This morning I ran on
the downs with two regular running friends Jim and Rupert and we were joined by
Chris who has been away in Nairobi for the past year. He has been involved in creating theatre projects
with children who have ended up on the streets for a variety of reasons and
women who have experienced violence and abuse. He has been directing and
producing theatre shows with them as the actors, which they have then been
travelling around and performing as a way of communicating to others their
experiences. Chris has been enabling them to find their voices at the same time
as alerting others to the changes that are needed in the world. He has written a piece
in the month's newsletter telling us directly more of the project.
You can follow my preparations for my 100k Ultra race in Denmark (this weekend!) on my ultra blog.
Our planet is so small really, especially with the technology we have now, meaning that we are able to be aware of what is happening in all corners of the globe and what is needed to heal and help. It isn't a lack of money or food or even love and compassion that is the problem or the reason there is pain and anguish and suffering. It is essentially a lack of consciousness.
We can all address this, by becoming more self aware, more conscious of our own growth and know that within each of us lie all the answers, in the history of each of us lies the history of each person.
We are more similar than different and by connecting to our own core we can connect more easily and readily to the experiences of others and this expansion of compassion can go a long way to creating the change we want to be and see in the world. |

The Bare Truth
We exist forever in dialogue, we create our future and give meaning
to our past in the dialogues we engage in. The spaces between us are
where we weave the magic and make up the stories that exist in the
moment - but shape our future. Within the dialogue we write and rewrite our history.
In the telling and retelling of our
stories we have the chance to find peace and the freedom from any
regret or unresolved wounds, from the pain which often holds us in the
past, locked within a tale, as well as the joy that comes through
sharing memories that form the fabric of our relationships and make our
history rich with meaning.
Through telling our story,
through being heard and hearing ourselves, we can often see our stories
from multiple perspectives. This makes it possible to move ourselves to
the present - and towards a future created with intention and
consciousness rather than unconscious patterns and outdated scripts!
My Weekly Podcast
Would
like to be interviewed by me, about any subject or any aspect of your
life? Is there something you want people to know about: maybe your
work, your hobby, an event, work you are doing, a charity, your art,
your writing, your music, your business, your politics, your spiritual
beliefs - anything at all? What motivates and excites you, what you'd
like to achieve, what you have achieved and how - anything that you
would like to say, then I would like to listen to you and so would the
people who are subscribing and tuning in every week!
'The Bare Truth'
offers a chance to speak and be heard and to make a difference in the
process of the dialogue as it unfolds! If this is something you would
like to do, then please get in touch and we can schedule an interview!
