Attention Companies with DOT Drivers
As published in the Federal Register December 1, 2008 - All states will have to incorporate the medical card information into the driver licensing database. Employers will have to have proof of current Medical Card from the state database (the card alone will not suffice after a 15 day grace period after the card was issued by the medical examiner). This will apply to ALL Medical Cards (CDL & Non-CDL). Compliance date for the states is not until 2012, and all CDL card holders must report to the state database prior to 2014. The Final Rule is published in the Federal Register 12/1/2008 (Docket No. 1997-2210 RIN 2126-AA10). http://www.dot.gov/ost/dapc/frpubs.html |
