It's easy for young people to think sex is no big deal. After all, celebrities constantly jump in and out of bed with different partners on television and in movies with no consequences. But in real life, it's a different story. The following true story might help your middle school and high school aged students grasp the reality of sex in the real world.

A Sacrificial Form of Love

Written by Marilyn Morris

Founder/President of Aim For Success

After 25 years of speaking to teenagers, I dare say one of the leading reasons young people say they're having sex is because . . . we're in love! And the next words that typically follow are, "And I know we'll be together for the rest of our lives."

Such was the case of a lady who recently shared with me her personal story after an Aim For Success parentCouple program. She said she met the love of her life when she was in high school. He was three years older; a freshman in college. She knew from the time they met they would be together forever, and the thought of postponing sex seemed absurd.

Throughout high school, all was wonderful - until her senior year when she began to realize something was very wrong. (READ MORE)

More Thoughts About Adoption

Taken from Teens Sex and Choices by Marilyn Morris

Through the years I have worked with hundreds of pregnant teenage girls. One of the most memorable was a 16-year-old girl who told me she often wondered why her birth mother placed her for adoption. She was plagued with the question, "Why didn't she love me enough to keep me?" As we discussed her options regarding her own teenage pregnancy, tears rolled down her face as she said, "Now I understand. My birth mother loved me so much that she placed me for adoption." Who's Your Child's Sex Educator?

Written by Marilyn Morris

A mother recently told me her 11-year-old daughter walked in the house from school and said, "Mom, what's Viagra?"

The rather shocked mother quickly replied, "It's a medication men sometimes take."

Disgusted with her mom's weak answer, the daughter said, "I know that. But why do they take it?"

Totally at a loss for words, the mother replied, "You're not old enough to know about that kind of stuff. We'll talk about that when you're older." (READ MORE)

Make a Donation

As school budgets continue to shrink and funding for abstinence programs disappears, Aim For Success is fighting hard to make every penny count. While we do charge for our programs, we are frequently asked to give discounts to our customers in need. We are able to discount programs on occasion because of the generous donations from those of you who support us. If you would like to contribute to help a specific school please contact our office at 972-422-2322 or email Windi Fuller at wfuller@aimforsuccess.org.
