The Amigos Fellowship and Opportunity Award Program supports library innovation, development, and research. Through a competitive selection process, up to $10,000 is available annually to Amigos member libraries and their staffs.
Join Amigos staff online October 29, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. CST to learn about the award program, how you or your library can apply for funding, and what types of projects may qualify. Also, get tips on writing a successful proposal and ask questions about the process. This one-hour session is open exclusively to Amigos members, and registration is free of charge. The Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums invites you to propose a workshop, session, keynote, or poster for the 2013 International Conference of Indigenous Archives, Libraries, and Museums to be held June 10-13, 2013, at the Santa Ana Pueblo-owned Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa near Albuquerque, NM.
The four-day conference brings together cultures from across the nation and around the world to exchange best practices for indigenous archives, libraries, and museums. The conference features a minimum of six pre-conference workshops, two pre-conference tours, 50 concurrent sessions, two general sessions, three keynote luncheons, and a post-conference Town Hall-style meeting.

OCLC CONTENTdm Virtual User Group Meeting to Be Held November 7

The first global, fully online CONTENTdm User Group Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 7, 2012. This virtual user group meeting will provide the opportunity for networking, sharing of CONTENTdm best practices among colleagues, and the chance to interact with the CONTENTdm product manager. The meeting will be hosted by Minitex and OCLC Digital Collection Services, and is open to all current and prospective CONTENTdm users at no charge. Basic Disaster Preparedness is scheduled for October 22 from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. CDT. Join Gina Minks, Amigos' Imaging & Preservation Service Manager, for this informative hour and learn the basics of creating an emergency plan for your organization and for your own personal well-being. The New WorldShare ILL is scheduled for November 26 from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. CST. Join Tim Prather, Amigos' Continuing Education Librarian, for this informative hour and learn about OCLC WorldShare Interlibrary Loan, a new service that is replacing WorldCat Resource Sharing. This new service centralizes workflows now managed in multiple systems and will provide new functionality that speeds fulfillment of interlibrary loan requests while saving time for library staff and library users.
