In a January 31, 2012 letter to Amigos member libraries it was announced that Amigos is pursuing a working agreement to complete a merger with the St. Louis-based Missouri Library Network Corporation (MLNC), a library membership organization similar to Amigos.  Contingent upon approval by the memberships of each organization in separate votes to be taken later this spring, the combined organization will form the largest library consortium west of the Mississippi River, comprised of libraries and cultural heritage institutions in 22 states.

UTD Library Campaign Uses QR Codes

To better acquaint students and faculty of the University of Texas at Dallas with the instruction program at the school's 
Eugene McDermott Library -- and to do so in a way that would utilize current technology to pique curiosity -- in 2011 the Library launched an informational campaign called Meet Your UTD Librarian, utilizing YouTube videos accessed by QR (short for Quick Response) codes as key components.  Read more...
