BIG SONGS FROM THE BIG SCREENSUNSET PLAYHOUSE goes to the movies with its Musical Mainstage presentation of

BIG SONGS FROM

THE BIG SCREEN

January 12, 2010- ELM GROVE, WI - Sunset Playhouse sings "Hooray for Hollywood!" as it presents BIG SONGS FROM THE BIG SCREEN as part of its Musical Mainstage Series in the Furlan Auditorium, 800 Elm Grove Road (Honorary Sunset Playhouse Way), Elm Grove, WI 53122 February 1 and 2, 2010.

A kiss is just a kiss, but it's sweeter with a song!  Four of the area's finest singers--Adam Estes, Tommy Lueck, Rana Roman, and Bonnie Scholz, along with Sunset Playhouse Rising Star Maggie Berens--will bring you a memorable evening of classic songs from your favorite films.  The concert will also feature an insider's look at Hollywood as actor Mark Metcalf ("Animal House", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "Mad Men") joins Playhouse regular and Musical Mainstage Producer Susan Loveridge to weave the evening's narrative.

About Sunset Playhouse's Musical Mainstage Series

Musical Mainstage is the popular professional concert series at Sunset Playhouse that offers audiences compelling performances of music centered around a theme.  As part of Musical Mainstage, local professional singers have showcased the music and talents of The Beatles, Andy Williams, the songs and styling of The Rat Pack, and Broadway at its finest.  The 2009-2010 Series continues in April with DAMES, DOLLS & DIVAS (a celebration of "girl power!") and finishes up in June with RAT PACK TWO (another look at Dean, Frank and Sammy and all their swingin' tunes).  The 2008-2009 Musical Mainstage Series is generously sponsored by United Performing Arts Fund.

About Sunset Playhouse's Rising Star Program

Area high school students are given the chance to work and perform alongside the best-of-the-best local professional musical talent as a part of Sunset Playhouse's Rising Star Program.  Area teenagers are selected through open auditions held at Sunset Playhouse during the spring.  Selected Rising Stars are guided by professional artists and featured as performers as a part of Sunset Playhouse's Musical Mainstage Series.

BIG SONGS FROM THE BIG SCREEN features the singing talents of Adam Estes, Tommy Lueck, Rana Roman, and Bonnie Scholz.  Rising Star Maggie Berens, a student at Catholic Memorial High School will perform with this talented group.  Musical direction is provided by Paula Foley Tillen with Jim Ryan on drums.  Musical Mainstage Producer Susan Loveridge serves as narrator for the show, joined by special guest artist Mark Metcalf.  Mark Metcalf is notorious for his infamous career in television and film.  You loved to hate him in ANIMAL HOUSE in his legendary turn as Neidermeyer, and who can forget him as The Maestro on SEINFELD?  Now Mark will join The Playhouse for some SERIOUS FUN that should not be missed!
