A TRIBUTE TO MOMS
 
Every week we get to see some of the moms picking up and dropping off their kids at our studio; often putting their kids fitness first.  This past Saturday we had our 2nd Annual Mother/Daughter Hip Hop Yoga class and brunch to make sure some of the moms got their workout in too!

Karen and momMoms do a lot for us. We often don't appreciate this early on. My parents have a restaurant and worked a lot when I was growing up. My mom always felt guilty for working so much and not being around much when I was growing up.  BUT somehow she managed to drive me around from activity to activity until I found the ones that I loved. I got to try gymnastics, swimming, basketball, tennis, dance and there are probably some more I am leaving out. I even remember my mom taking me to Jack LaLanne (remember that!!). Now I am the one who gets to show her new ways to exercise and stay fit (the latest being Pilates).

O2 MAX will be participating in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women to benefit breast cancer research this Saturday. We would love for you to join our team (ALL AGES). Click on the link below to join the team.

O2 MAX attends first community event

Bosu workoutThe O2 MAX team attended The Wellness & Safety Festival event last Saturday on The Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica.  The day featured a relaxing Yoga demonstration, an energetic jumprope workout by Nikki from Jump Squad and a challenging Bosu workout.  And one lucky winner even won a free O2 MAX membership! 


O2 MAX & My BEAUTY Host 'Primp for Prom' Event

kj and my beautyThe day kicked off with a invigorating workout and was followed by free giveaways from Vlado Shoes, Benefit makeup demonstrations  and hair styling from Cathy Masingale.  Vitamin Water provided free refreshments and everyone received a free gift bag of goodies!

                    Shirley Brown, O2 MAShirley BrownX Fitness
           Programs and Operations Manager

Shirley
received her Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion Fitness Management from Southern Oregon University. Her expertise includes fitness management, exercise physiology and weight training.  She served as a sales associate at Gold's Gym and office manager at UCLA Medical.  Additionally, Shirley has competed in bodybuilding competitions and also has experience teaching students strength training, health and nutrition and is a Certified Personal Trainer with NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine).  Shirley met Karen (founder) 3 years ago when introduced by a mutual friend who knew about their common passion-youth fitness. Shirley plays a vital role in developing the training and community programs at O2 MAX.
