Come play and explore a variety of movement expressions with Cristina and Manny:
Feb 6 - World Dance: Let loose to the rhythms of African and Latin music. In this Zumba-like class, Cristina will guide you through a variety of easy to follow dance moves drawing from salsa, merengue, cumbia, cha cha, reggaeton, hip hop, belly dancing, and more. (All levels)
Feb 13 - Contact Improv: Contact Improvisation is an open-ended exploration of the kinaesthetic possibilities of bodies moving through contact. Sometimes wild and athletic, sometimes quiet and meditative, it is a form open to all bodies and inquiring minds. (All levels)
Feb 20 - Acro Yoga: Doubles yoga with more acrobatics and challenging postures. (Intermediate)
Feb 27 - Sufi Dance: A sweet and hypnotic group practice that allows you to connect to your authentic self. In an exciting, rhythmic environment, we will guide you to move through subtle repetitive gestures, fluid yoga movement, hypnotic oscillations and dance with scarves. (All levels)
Mar 6 - Doubles Yoga: A fun filled class of contact and partner yoga with a bit of Thai bodywork. With the help of another person, the stretches go deeper, the balances are more intricate and the playfulness blossoms! (All levels)

Moving
into Balance is an eight-week program with Manny Muros that immerses you
in the study of meditation, yoga and Tantric philosophy. This comprehensive and
integrated curriculum works with the mind, through the body, and in alignment
with your spirit to increase your vitality, and bring greater peace and joy
into your life. Class meets one night a week, and is supplemented by home study
and practice. We will work in a safe and supportive environment to
cultivate the best that we have within ourselves and create a new foundation
for a healthy and balanced life! $160 for six week series with an optional discount on a concurrent Center membership or class card. Contact Manny with questions or to register.

Prenatal Yoga Wednesdays 6:45-8:00 PM; Six week series begins Feb 24
Christina Dubin will guide you in a comforting and empowering journey that explores yoga poses that help eliminate common discomforts of pregnancy and those that aid in labor, delivery and postpartum. Using the Barnes Method, this class combines the principles of Anusara Yoga with breathwork, alignment, sound vibration, strength training, therapeutics and community for the health and happiness of both mother and baby. Taught by Joanne Rowley and Rose Russo, this wellness workshop is specifically designed for cancer patients - newly diagnosed, in treatment or in recovery. Come learn yoga practices that reduce symptoms and help create mental and physical ease. Leave feeling renewed and hopeful. By donation only.

Introduction to Yoga Sundays 5:45-7:15 PM Six week series beginning Feb 28
This series focuses on the basics of yoga for total beginners, or those returning to their practice after a while. Manny and Cristina present a progressive curriculum of fundamental poses and principles with an overview of yoga philosophy. The atmosphere is open and friendly, with time for questions and discussion. Six week session (Feb 28 to April 4) is $140 and includes membership at the Center and unlimited attendance at all other Ongoing Yoga classes. OK to drop in. Contact Manny to register. | |
