Holiday Art Market
The Gift of Art
Support Local Artists
While Getting Your Holiday Shopping Done
Saturday, December 11, 5-7pm

Darlington Arts Center is hosting an evening Art Marketplace full of original art on December 11th from 5 to 7pm. This is a great opportunity to pick up some gifts for others as well as treasures for yourself!

Choose from beautiful paintings, functional pottery, unique photography, hand-made jewelry and more. This is the time to support local artists and pick up original work at affordable prices. A wide variety of ceramics, sculpture, paintings, prints and photographs will be available.

In addition to all the fun items you can pick up Saturday, Darlington has a few other gift ideas as well!

snowflakesHas someone on your list expressed an interest in learning something new? Consider a Darlington gift certificate! You pick the amount, they pick the subject - clay workshops, piano lessons, yoga classes & so much more! You'll open the door to a new experience they will treasure, instead of another toy that may break and gather dust.

If you are shopping for that person that has everything, someone out of town, or just trying to get away from the commercialization of the season, consider an alternative gift! While crossing something off your "to-do" list:
      -  you will receive a tax-deductible donation for your contribution to Darlington
      -  you support your community arts center
      -  you determine the amount you spend
      -  the person you designate will receive a note informing them of the generous gift you made in their honor, what we have accomplished with it, and you've reaffirmed your value of the arts!

Julie Dixon
Hand-Colored Photographs
December's Gallery Exhibit
Show open through December 23rd

"Brandywine River" by Julie DixonJulie Dixon, an exceptional photographer with a strong following, is known for her award winning landscapes. Starting in high school, Julie became entranced with black and white photography and has since nurtured this passion.

Julie has taught herself the tradition of Hand-Coloring photos, which began in 1839. Each piece is an original work of art with paint applied directly to the photograph. Julie is one of the few artists left using this nostalgic technique in a digital age.

Julie's inspiration comes from landscapes and nostalgia.
