Countryscape Cityscape |
by Regina Stoltz & Kaela Parkhouse
show on display through Aug 28 |
Regina Stoltz ~ Countryscape
Regina's work focuses on rural landscapes at farms in Upper Bucks County, which is where she grew up. Her watercolor compositions involve layers of color creating rich textures and emphasizig darks and lights creating the illusion of 3-D forms. Regina is also showing graphite drawings and linocuts. Farm at a Distance shown.
Kaela Parkhouse ~ Cityscape
Kaela is currently living and working in central Philadelphia. In her latest works, Kaela explores the structural isolation of city life and landscape in stark, almost monochromatic watercolor and pencil sketches. Images of barren rooftops and dislocated telephone poles suggest both connectedness and loneliness in equal measure. Lemon Hill shown. |

Ceramics by Laura Westmoreland
|
Celadon Juice Cups
|
|
Laura is a teaching ceramics artist at Darlington. Her pots in this show juxtapose sharp crisp lines that are incised into raw clay with organic forms that emerge and grow over the developed form. This layering of raw earth, structural forms and overgrowth is an echo of nature's relationship with all human structures - one continually taking over the other.
Gallery hours: Mon-Fri 9am-9pm

Serving on our Board of Directors and the Board Committees is a meaningful way to get involved with the Darlington Arts Center. We're looking for energetic people with an interest in sharing their legal, financial, public relations and marketing expertise. Our Board meets every other month.
