Greetings! |
Happy 2010! For me, the beginning of any new year always signals a time for change, and the adage "out with the old, in with the new" keeps running through my head. With that theme in mind, we're busy making a number of changes here at BDA International. In particular, this will be the last e-newsletter under the "How YOU™ Are Like Shampoo" theme. Thanks to the exciting business growth we've experienced since we launched this newsletter back in January of 2008, we will be shifting this publication to embrace a variety of brand-related themes. Titled as the "Brenda Bence" newsletter, we will share news and updates on effective company or product branding, how to achieve greater success through personal branding on the job, how to brand yourself as a leader in your organization, and how to use branding to land a new and better job in the competitive market place.
To give you a taste of things to come, we've included in this last HYALS e-newsletter a sample of just a few of the types of brand-related topics you can expect to read about in the future. Be sure to whitelist "@BrendaBence.com" to avoid missing future editions.
I send you the very best of wishes in 2010 and look forward to staying in touch in what is bound to be an exciting new year!

(Hint: It Gives Your Leadership Personal Brand a Boost!) |
When your team experiences a success, what do you do? Do you brush over these wins, automatically working toward the next goal without an acknowledgement of what has been achieved? Do you share a quick "congratulations" or "good job" and then head back into your office?
In our non-stop, 24-7 world, it's all too easy to place immediate focus on your next task at hand and forget to stop and reflect on what's been achieved. But if you ignore the wins of your team, you miss a vital opportunity not only to inspire your team on to even greater successes, but to strengthen your own leadership personal brand in the process. Personal Brand Damage Control: 8 Tips to Stay on Top at Work |
Every day at work, you run the risk of damaging your personal brand - even if you don't think you have one. How is this possible? Well, your personal brand is the way people perceive, think, and feel about you in relation to others. The people you work with already have perceptions, thoughts, and feelings about you, so just by virtue of being "you" in the workplace, you already have a personal brand.
The question is whether you have the personal brand you want. Is your brand bringing you greater success, or is it actually holding you back? Not knowing the answer to that question can mean the difference between a career that stays land-locked and a career that skyrockets.
So, what are the top 8 ways to keep personal brand damage under control? READ MORE |
