Return to the Breath
Greetings!

Hello Beautiful Human!

Well, I wrote a newsletter for you all in February, but the cycle of spring renewal (birth-death-rebirth) didn't forget the part before the dawn. Thank you, community, for the love and support that I unexpectantly needed during my father's passing.

Now let's heal, enjoy the sunshine, and get active!
I am considering adding another therapeutic, acu-yoga class to my offerings. Please take the survey to help me decide when to offer the class.

Would you like to come to my Acu-Yoga class?
If so, when would you like the class offered?
Take the short, 5 question survey to let me know.

Fire of Yoga Documentary

Return to the Breath: a yogic statement.

"Breathing is Mandatory."
Have any of you ever heard me say this?

I hear myself telling my clients this often. Well, it was confirmed again in my favorite book this month: Yoga Anatomy: Your illustrated guide to postures, movements, and breathing techniques by Leslie Kaminoff. (Click on the link and scroll down the products page to order the book).

Leslie reminds us that "breathing is movement", which involves three diaphragms (pelvic, respiratory, and vocal) that come together in yoga movements plus the ujjayi (ocean) breath which protects the spine during movement!

"If yoga practice leads you more integrated, balanced breathing, it's because it trains your body to freely respond to the demands that you place upon it in the various positions and activities that make up your daily life" (p.16)

Sounds just like postural control for activities of daily living (ADL's) in physical therapy...doesn't it? Just breathe.
