APAH Hosts Forum on Innovative Affordable Housing
Community leaders discuss new solutions |
APAH hosted a forum in June to discuss innovative tools for affordable housing development, at Arlington Economic Development in Ballston. Local leaders in affordable housing spoke about Arlington's need in the next decade, efficient and affordable design, and recent successes in affordable housing. The event was well attended and combined perspectives of academic research, Arlington County leaders, and faith-based organizations. "The next step," said APAH President/CEO Nina Janopaul, "is to work with local government and nonprofit partners on constructive solutions to reduce costs and create more opportunities for innovative affordable housing." Through a generous grant from the Citi Foundation, APAH will also produce a summary of proceedings from this event. |
