Progress Continues on Buchanan Gardens
Resident retention remains a high priority | Five of 11 buildings in the 111-unit Buchanan Gardens Apartments are completed and 49 families have moved into completely renovated homes with new interiors, windows, appliances and heating and cooling systems. The new playground and Community Center are nearly complete. APAH is renovating this 100% affordable community in phases to lessen the impact of relocation. "We are very proud that we have retained 65% of our Buchanan Gardens residents since construction began. Many of the old units were also expanded to accommodate more families. There is a shortage of family-sized housing in Arlington, especially three-bedroom rental apartments," said Nina Janopaul, APAH President/CEO. |
