Public Hearing April 9th on Proposed Wastewater Treatment Plant Discharge Permit

Warren County residents are invited to attend a public hearing April 9 regarding a proposal that could lower the water quality of Simpson Creek and the Little Miami River. On Feb. 14, the Director of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed modification to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit to the Warren County Water and Sewer Department, for the discharge from the Lower Little Miami Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 2086 W. US Route 22 and 3 and, if approved, discharges from the facility would result in degradation to the water quality of Simpson Creek and the Little Miami River. However, the water quality criteria developed to protect acquatic life and human health will not be exceeded. For detailed information visit www.deerfieldtwp.com (Public Relations/Hot News).
