Thai Herbal Compress (Luk Pra Kob) Certification
Feb 26-28, 2010 ($475, 20 hours/17 CE hours)
Our Luk
Pra Kob Thai herbal compress certification training is coming up again
soon - we only teach this course twice a year. This is always one of
our students' favorite courses, with its moist heat, aromatherapy and pain relieving benefits
- hard not to like. If you have experienced this unique and wonderful
treatment you will understand why it is seeing strong interest from
spas and consumers. This treatment was featured in a cover article in
Massage Magazine last year.
Thai
herbal compress balls, consisting of therapeutic herbs including Thai
varieties of ginger, lemongrass, camphor, eucalyptus and
other ingredients wrapped in cotton muslin, are steamed and applied to
the Sen lines while warm. The strong aromatherapy and anti-inflammatory
properties of the treatment make it both highly therapeutic and
relaxing, and it is performed at the top Thai spas all over the world.
Any serious Thai bodyworker should be conversant in the herbal
compress treatment, as it is a core part of the traditional Thai
repertoire for pain. Time Out Chicago last year did a story on Chuck
performing this treatment and made it their Critic's Pick.
If you are interested in joining us for this training, get your deposit in,
as it will likely fill. Level 1 or other Thai training must be
completed prior to taking the LPK training. Your registration includes
all materials as well as herbal compresses to take home.
We
have our herbal compresses manufactured to our specifications
in
Thailand and import them on a regular basis. The balls are beautifully
handcrafted and larger (200 gm) than most, allowing them to retain
their potency through 3-5 sessions or more. We provide these and other
Thai herbal products for sale at the school and in our secure webstore.
