CIVICS IN ACTION: ELECTION 2012

Learn, think and decide: Election 2012

Through Election 2012, K-12 students have a great opportunity to learn about and experience government, democracy and leadership. Non-partisan activities help students read, write, listen, analyze, discuss, vote, and more!

Students report!
Youth are attending - and reporting on government, candidates, Election 2012, issues, policies and decisions. At the DNC they saw the First Lady, attended protests, heard 2 Presidents speak, and more. Across Charlotte, students attend and report on city issues and policies impacting youth.

Students across the community are invited to be reporters this election - and beyond. Share reports, photos and videos.

Kids Voting Mock Election

Charlotte-area students have the opportunity to experience Election 2012 through the Kids Voting mock election, a program of GenerationNation. This is the 20th year the program has been offered in Charlotte.

From October 22 through November 6, K-12 students will cast their own ballots in local, state and national races. Charlotte students will also weigh in on local government referendum questions. Non-partisan educational activities, curriculum and resources are available on GenerationNation's Election 2012 website.
