CSPAN Bus visits Charlotte school
| On January 17, GenerationNation partnered with CSPAN, Time Warner Cable, Kids Voting USA and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools to give students at Marie G. Davis Military and Leadership Academy the unique opportunity to visit the CSPAN bus! Students learned about the online resources and videos available through CSPAN, and tested their knowledge about public affairs. Throughout the year, GenerationNation and CSPAN will continue to partner to provide educational resources and opportunities linked to Election 2012. |

Youth Voice co-leader a 'Young Achiever"
| Mallard Creek High School senior Jalen Feaster, a student co-leader of GenerationNation's Youth Voice Leadership Alliance program, was featured as a Charlotte Observer Young Achiever in January.
All high school students are invited to participate in the youth council, which connects student leaders and emerging leaders with school board, county and city officials to provide a youth perspective in policy and decision-making. It is a great way for high school students to build leadership skills and interests in government, and to network with peers and community leaders. |

K-12 Civic learning opportunities
| This winter, there are many opportunities for civic learning. GenerationNation helps K-12 students to learn about and understand government, leadership and civic participation through non-political educational activities and learning opportunities great for students, teachers and parents to use in the classroom, after school or at h ome.
Ahead: learning opportunities linked to the 2012 conventions, President's Day, Black History Month, debate-watching, local governments and budgeting, civic leadership, and more. Additionally, GenerationNation will share the best resources available from education partners at iCivics, Kids Voting USA, Newspapers in Education, Civic Education Consortium, CSPAN, and others.
