Greetings!

 

Just when I thought I was safe- I find out that my Mac is vulnerable for malware and that where I go- or where one of my employees goes- is being logged by the ubiquitous smart phone. I wanted a CRM - but didn't want to upgrade my servers. I went up to the cloud- but before I did, I took a look at others' experiences.

Apple Macs have reached 16%marketshare- now malware construction kits are being used by hackers to create trojans for Macs! 


Look, I don't want to be an alarmist. But I am scared. I take a look at my beautiful Macbook Pro- and I am concerned that it may lack the defenses of my Windows 7 machines if I get attacked by malware!

 

I read this article - and now I have to do some serious research.

 

There's an app for that - but do you have a policy for it? 


If you go somewhere with your smartphone - your location is logged. If an employee is carrying a company issued smart phone and goes somewhere, their location is known. Is it information you can access- yes. Is it information that you can use? Well, it depends...Here is a current article that sums it up!

 

 


Go to the Cloud- but README first

 

"I needed a CRM. I didn't want a server upgrade. I went to the cloud. " So far, so good. It was fast, it was inexpensive and it was effective. 

I came across this article around the same time. It made me think. If this is going to be the new normal, then we need to explore more "hidden costs".
