Message from the CEO

Dear Colleagues,

End of year messages customarily end on an inspirational  note, something that motivates as we rush through the final days and helps set the course of what is generally perceived as a new beginning. However, it's difficult to come up with a universal message that resonates with the breadth of our customers and partners.

In 2009 many businesses struggled to find steady footing. Employers and employees found that they measured success in a very different way but yet they were cemented in the same philosophy. Employers were looking for ways to retain their workforce and employees were looking for ways to retain their jobs.

This train of thought derived from a conversation I had a couple of months back with one of our radiologists and is still resonating with me today. I will call them the three rules of stability.

Here they are:
1. Be Available...From an employee's perspective, since that means be available to work, be available to take on another challenge, be available and willing to go the extra mile when it counts. From a business perspective, this means be available for your customers, pick up the phone when they call you, add additional coverage when they need it and generally be there when your customers need you most.
2. Be Able...From an employee's perspective, this means you need to have the proper skills to do your job. You need to work hard at making yourself better and you need to try and be the best person for the job. From a business perspective, you need to be able to perform for your clients. You need to better and more competent at your core business then the competition.
3. Be Affable...Simply put, just be nice! It doesn't matter if your an employer or a business. This one is simple. People enjoy working with people who are nice, polite and can work with you to solve whatever issues come up.

It is with these three things in mind that Imaging On Call will move into 2010. We will continue to focus on our core business and we will focus on the three rules of stability. These in conjunction with our core values will give us the vision and over arching objectives to make 2010 the year our clients will get the very best we have to offer.

I wish everyone the best of luck in 2010. And, as we prepare for the year ahead, please reach out to me with any questions or concerns. By working together, Imaging On Call will become an even stronger partner for your team this year.

Respectfully,
Mike Lampron

Teleradiologist Spotlight
Kathryn Palmer USE THIS ONEKathryn Palmer, MD
Dr. Palmer began her medical career as a board-certified pediatrician. Drawn by the visual medium as well as the diversity and complexity of pathology, Dr. Palmer soon transitioned into the world of radiology.

"I was naturally drawn first into pediatric radiology. Ultimately my interest in the brain, which dated back to my undergraduate major in biopsychology, led to a neuroradiology fellowship with a strong emphasis on neurointerventional techniques and six months dedicated to pediatric neuroradiology."

After a year as an academic neuroradiologist, Dr. Palmer spent a decade as a general radiologist in private practice, with special emphasis on neuroradiology, mammography and interventional radiology. While in that practice, she instituted a successful breast MRI program that was well accepted and understood by the breast surgeons as well as primary care physicians and ob/gyns.

"These varied interests and a recent transition to teleradiology have maintained my excitement for radiology.  It is my roots as a pediatrician however, that remain a guiding force for me. I have never forgotten how it feels to be at the other end of a radiology report, and I strive to provide clinicians with a helpful report that doesn't complicate their day or patients' lives."

Welcome to Imaging On Call!
RSNA 2009 Wrap-up
Once again, Imaging On Call exhibited at the industry's largest show, RSNA, from November 29th-December 4th at McCormick Place in Chicago. Although official attendance figures have not yet been released, an estimated 50,000 professionals attended the event. The show provided Imaging On Call with the forum to meet with existing and potential newIOC Booth RSNA '09 customers, vendors and physicians. Booth visitors were able to play our own version of Jeopardy and gave them an opportunity to win a Toshiba Netbook. In addition, Imaging On Call also gave away hundreds of soccer balls...one of our most popular giveaways! If you were unable to get one at the show, please send a request to Amy Cruz at acruz@imagingoncall.com.

We're already planning for next year's show and we look forward to seeing everyone in Chicago!
