First Quarter 2009

Dear Colleague,

I am happy to report another successful year for Imaging On Call, although it wasn't easy.  Our company experienced the same economic woes that afflicted practices across the country.  In the second half of 2008, our company focused on improving our services and ensuring that we provide not only an economical solution for each of our customers, but also add true value to patient care.

This past year IOC welcomed 15 new radiologists.  In doing so, we maintain our commitment to quality and excellence by hiring only the finest radiologists.  This new, more diverse radiology group will enable IOC to provide a better service and ensure a rapid turnaround time (TAT) for each of our customers.

It is impossible to predict where healthcare reform will take our industry.  While the practice and business of radiology will continue to face many challenges, our commitment to providing a quality read for every study will remain as the guiding principle at Imaging On Call.  In 2009, we will continue to focus on patient care by providing the highest quality teleradiology services.

I welcome and appreciate feedback from all of our customers. Please feel free to contact me at bphelan@imagingoncall.com or 888-647-5979 any time.

Sincerely,

Brian Phelan

Remember the "tele" in teleradiology
Teleradiology would not be a viable business enterprise without the availability of affordable high speed data transmission capability. Howard Reis, Imaging On Call's Director of Business Development, took advantage of his years of experience in telecommunications to write a white paper that explores the importance of telecommunications to the teleradiology business.  Issues from image compression to the need for redundancy and disaster planning to thoughts on the future of the industry are addressed.  Click here to download a full copy of the paper for free.

International Teleradiology
Later this year, Howard will also be contributing the Teleradiology section to a white paper sponsored by the American Telemedicine Association.  The title of the full white paper will be "Conducting Telehealth Business Internationally." Howard invites our readers to submit any comments or suggestions to hreis@imagingoncall.com.
