BSCI Hiring Instructors - Awarding Licenses
by Colleen Cook, President, BSCI

Since announcing our expansion plans this spring, BSCI has awarded  licenses to respected professionals in NY, GA, TX, NJ, added instructors in CO, TN & MI, and welcomed new BSCI Affiliated Programs in OK, MA, & CO. And, we've just begun!

Since 2000, Bariatric Support Centers International has led the bariatric support community to ensure optimal outcomes for bariatric patients.  We have certified over 400 bariatric professionals through our Support Group Leader Certification and Back on Track Facilitator Certification

Having served over 15,000 bariatric patients through the years, we have recognized and have responded to the need for more long-term educational and support resources by expanding our outreach. If you have recognized a need in your area for greater educational and support resources for WLS patients learn more about the opportunities below and call for a telephonic interview to discuss the possiblities.

OAC

With the ongoing discussions around healthcare reform, legislators often get caught up in the "politics" of crafting a bill and forget about the actual people that are affected by their legislation. This is why legislators need to hear from YOUR patients on the impact obesity and its treatment has made in their lives. Patients' stories are very powerful and can make a meaningful difference in supporting the Obesity Action Coalition's (OAC) efforts to improve access to obesity treatment.

As such, OAC has produced a short video, titled "Taking Action with the Obesity Action Coalition," on the importance of your
patients writing their elected officials. We strongly encourage you to arrange for the video to be played during your upcoming support group meetings. The video includes a brief introduction to the OAC and a friendly tutorial on using the OAC's Legislative Action Center to write legislators.

When it comes to influencing our elected officials, we all know that there is power in numbers; therefore, it is our goal to have this video shown in EVERY bariatric support group in the United States.  Please join us in those efforts by having the OAC's "Taking Action" video shown at your support group and encouraging your patients to raise their voice.
