CADO President Jane Maynard
2012 Clergy Conference April 16-18
Dear Friends:
Your CADO Board has been hard at work planning for our joint Conference with colleagues from the Diocese of Spokane. I'm pleased to announce the agenda for our 2012 Clergy Conference. Our conference theme is: The Future Is Now: The Shape of Leadership in The 21st Century Church.
We are privileged to welcome Presiding Bishop, Katharine Jefferts Schori, as our keynote speaker. Bishop Katharine will be with us Monday and Tuesday. Her first presentation, on Monday morning will be more formal. The remaining two sessions will have a conversational tone with ample opportunity for dialogue.
Worship for the conference will be planned by a cooperative team of clergy from both dioceses.
On Wednesday, there will be an opportunity for clergy from both dioceses to gather together with Bishop Rickel and Bishop Waggoner. Following that session, clergy from each diocese will meet with their own Bishop to address issues specific to their context.
We are excited about this format and expect a wide-ranging and thoughtful discussion on the challenges and opportunities of ministry in this time of unprecedented change.
Our conference location, Suncadia Resort, offers a breathtaking natural setting, great food, comfortable accomodations, and a relaxing Northwest lodge atmosphere. There are opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities, along with cozy lounges and fireplaces, perfect for chatting with friends or curling up with a good book.
As always, we look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. We certainly hope that you'll be able to join us this year. Don't hesitate to be in touch with one of your CADO Board members if you have questions or need more information. In peace, Jane
