Greetings!
Here it comes.  Can you feel it?  Summer solstice is next Tuesday, and it is quite a day for celebration.  It is extra special for Don and me, as we chose it 24 years ago as our day to unite in marriage.  For many it is a celebration of the sun returning to the north, bringing light, growth, and warmth.

We at Yoga on the Beach celebrate you, our students, who bring a solstice to us during each practice.  To your light, growth and warmth we bow in gratitude!  See you on the beach....

WHAT'S HAPPENING -

YOGA GREEK ODYSSEY:  We have had great response to our Greek trip in October. With a few spots left, we'd love to have you enjoy Athens, Santorini and Mykonos with us.  We'll be finding the time and places to do yoga daily whether it is beaches, ruins or poolside.  Check out the link for more details.  Our friends in Santorini keep sending pictures of delicious food, and jaw dropping vistas.  My juices are flowing.... Sign up NOW!

CAPE COD:

Summer schedule begins June 20.   The last Sunday morning class is June 19th and then we kick off our summer schedule, Monday through Saturday 8:00 am with Wednesday Yin Yoga at 6:00 pm.  We are clebrating July 4th with classes on July 3 and July 4, see you there!

We are also offering 3 Workshops this summer in July -

KEY WEST:

Yoga classes continue at both our Ft Zach and Southernmost locations.  We are working on new classes at Southernmost and watching the classes at Ft Zach to determine the length of time we'll continue there.    We'll keep you posted by email and on the website.

WELLNESS RETREATS:  Our first retreat was well received and a joy to be a part of.  If you are looking for a get away, with opportunity to discover Key West and learn about aromatheraphy, healthy eating and yoga, our next retreat is coming up in November 10-13 over Veteran's Day weekend.  Grab a few friends, or bring your honey.

For more details check out  Key West Wellness Retreats.  Nov 10-13 is the next date!

Surrender based Community

I often speak of Surrender in Yin yoga class, as it is one of the qualities of yin.

I notice for many the word surrender brings up an emotional resistance, a big NO in their system.  Some wince across their brow, while others stiffen their bodies, and then there are those that shut down or tune out.  For them the word brings up a disempowering energy, a "them over me" concept, the image of a white flag waving "I give up."  But that is just one way to think about surrender.
