You hear it in most every class with us at Yoga on the Beach. "On your next inhalation breathe into your heart, and exhale out of your heart. Make the connection between your heart and your mind through the breath." Don and I offer you this time to connect to living through the heart/mind connection.
We can often get into the habit of being so segmented, so detached, so alone in the world; then in a single breath we connect. The mind is focused on the breath, the breath is connecting to the heart, and the heart sends a signal (a pulse) out that offers us connection. Alignment.
What is it that we are offering to you when we give you the moment of connecting to your heart? The gifts of this moment of unity are vast. From the heart we come to know love, care, appreciation, joy, acceptance, forgiveness, compassion, patience, to name a few. They are all powerful energies that lighten our spirit and free our souls.
One of the easiest of the energies to access is appreciation. The power of this energy is transformational, for when we begin to appreciate anything, the value of it, and our own feelings is uplifted. It only takes one breath to make the connection and intention to access appreciation. Then allow yourself some time to let appreciation grow in you.
Each morning begin your day by setting a tone of appreciation. Look around, feel inside and breathe into your heart, awakening a sense of appreciation. Set that tone, and then check in during the day. Refresh it whenever you need it. With a few breaths you can give yourself a "spritzer" of appreciation. Watch how things begin to change.
Raise the value of your day.
