Mid-March, Ides of March, March Madness, what ever you call it, the middle of March is a time of great anticipation for many of us. It signals the start of something new, as it pulses with the excitement of change. For those in the northern hemisphere the darkness of winter leaps forward into the lightness of springtime. I can hear the sound of "finally" exuding loudly. There is a sense of fresh energy in the air.
This is a wonderful time to be aware of what is changing for you. What is on your agenda to shift this spring? What new energy are you ready to jump into? Look around, what feels "old" and complete to you? It may be as simple as your home needs some cleaning out or as complex as a change in your career or relationship with someone/something.
I have memories of spring cleaning with my mother as a tradition, which as a child I never understood. Now I have a deeper understanding of it. Springtime is the natural flow of awakening and transformation. From the hibernation and stagnation, nature begins to renew, refresh and energize.
You might begin by taking a look at one room in your home or office. Start to see with a new outlook the space you live in. Update your environment to reflect where you are NOW with your thoughts, beliefs and energy. Let go of those things that, as Don and I say in each class, "no longer serve you."
Some of you may be looking at your "job" or career and recognizing it is time to make a change. Daunting to some, but easy for others! With any change the less you are "in your head" about it, the easier it is. Trusting instincts, listening to inner wisdom will help you on this one, much more than thinking about what you should do next. Asking what it is that you would like to do will be of greater assistance.
Remember everything is temporary, and all things will change. So if you try something and recognize quickly it is not working for you, change again.
What ever it is, know that you are supported by the Universe to
plant the seed of change now. Nurture it with patience and kindness, then watch it grow.
